What is the SL Trailblazer’s Atlas? The Atlas is a community-driven, comprehensive directory designed to help Second Life equestrians easily find, plan, and enjoy high-quality trail rides across the grid. We specialize in mapping out scenic routes, uncovering hidden gems, and providing clear logistics so you can explore with confidence.
Is this directory free to use? Absolutely! The Atlas is a shared public resource created for the entire Second Life equestrian community. Anyone can use it to plan solo rides, organize group events, or discover new regions.
Do sim owners know about these trails? Yes. Every trail listed has explicit owner approval for directory inclusion, regular group hosting, and custom trail mapping. Except for Mainland.
How do I contribute or report changes? Send a NC ASAP to Ghostly Dismantled.

What is the dress code? Rides are strictly clothed, fully covered, and kept PG at all times unless the trail leader says otherwise. We also support and recognise clothing optional on Adult Only trail rides.
Are child avatars allowed? Permitted status varies by region; please check the specific notes for your chosen trail.
How should I prepare for a ride? Lower your script weight. Detach heavy combat systems, unnecessary HUDs, complex particle attachments, and unoptimized mesh hair/clothing to prevent sim lag.

What do the "Rez Zone" and "Group Tag" columns mean?

Yes: A public rez zone is available right at the starting location.
Group required to rez: You will need to join the local sim's land group to rez your horse.
No: There is no native rez zone at the start, meaning you should look for a nearby public sandbox or use a trail that has a pre-installed Teegle rezzer.

What does "Teegle Rezzer available" mean? If a trail is marked Yes, the sim owner has placed a built-in Teegle horse rezzer on-site. This allows you to rez a rideable Teegle horse directly from their station, even if you don't own one or don't have land permissions to rez your own inventory objects.
Why is "Sim Crossing Quality" included? Sim crossings are a major factor in SL riding performance. We rate crossings based on real user experiences so you can anticipate potential lag spikes, camera rubber-banding, or specific terrain hazards (like momentarily glitching underground) before you set out.

Are all horse breeds allowed? Yes (Teegle, Water Horse, AKK, avatar-based, etc.). Check individual trail notes for tight bridges or steep steps that might impact larger sizes.
Do I need to follow maturity ratings? Yes. Always match your avatar settings to the trail's rating (General, Moderate, or Adult) and follow local land rules.
Can I pick up trail maps and landmarks? Yes. We have an Inworld HQ where you can pick up all maps and landmarks, completely for free. SLURL

Lag Control: Rez mounts only at designated staging areas. Take your horse into inventory immediately if you crash or leave early to avoid leaving orphaned objects.
Pace & Positioning: Follow the Trail Boss’s local chat/voice directions. Maintain a steady trot or canter; never race ahead, wander off-path, or gallop through the pack. Leave breathing room to prevent multi-horse pileups during lag spikes. Talk in a dedicated group chat to ensure communication.
Community Behavior: Keep chat friendly and welcoming. Bullying, drama, or brand elitism is not tolerated. Avoid politics, controversial topics, and graphic adult discussions. No unauthorized business ads or spam.
Land Respect: Obey all local sim rules, respect private residential boundaries, stay on the paths, and leave weapons or noisy gestures at home.
